Haiti confirmed positive with African swine fever

THe OIE has confirmed that Haiti has self declared that they have a farm with an outbreak of African swine fever.

The OIE report indicated that testing started August 26, 2021 and was confirmed via real-time PCR at the Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (FADDL) at Plum Island OIE Reference Laboratory on September 17, 2021 and reported to the OIE on September 19, 2021.

The farm where the outbreak occurred is located in Anse-à-Pitre, near the border of the Dominican Republic.
