El Salvador Reports Classical Swine Fever 'Resolved'
EL SALVADOR - The veterinary authority has sent a report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) regarding an outbreak of classical swine fever, which has been resolved.

The latest report from El Salvador (dated 26 September) is a follow-up report to a case of classical swine fever, which broke out on 28 July 2008. It was on a traditional breeding farm in San Miguel in the south-east of the country. Of the herd of 57 animals, 54 became ill. Fifteen died, 15 were destroyed and the remaining 27 animals were slaughtered.
There have been no further outbreaks and the event is resolved.
