Cystitis, Aujeszky's disease and hog cholera (classical swine fever), among other diseases, are constantly ailing the Bolivian pig industry, particularly from an economic standpoint. The workshop has therefore enlightened producers on these diseases, and has helped them learn about various preventive measures.

Some of the attendees of the program were Dr Daniel Gareca Cow (National Programs Coordinator of SENASAG Animal Health), Dr Raul Paniagua Barriga (Departmental Coordinator for Animal Health - Chuquisaca), Dr Eduardo Romero (Head of Swine Health - Santa Cruz) and Dr Marco Antonio Martinez Batallanos (Head of Swine Health - Tarija).

The event was held on 21 and 22 February 2013 in the PROMETA salon, located in Calle Alejandro del Carpio.
